I am going to use this page to post sites that I found interesting. They may or may not have anything to do with the focus of this site. I will also post links to friends of this site. If you have a site or know of one worth listing, send it to me.

Personal sites/bogs of diabetics with dogs

  • Abi Thornton
Abi is a teen dealing with diabetes. Her first experience with a service dog did not go well. But she isn't giving up. Check her site and see how the search for a replacement is going.
  • Paws of Life
Mark started the site to support and start fundraising for his brother, Jason. Mark's goal was to raise $6000 for a service dog, but ended up with $17,000. Check his site and see how he did it.

Sites of diabetes support organizations

Dog training organizations

  • Association of Pet Dog Trainers
If you're looking for a trainer to train your dog you can find one here. You can also find a certified dog trainer to evaluate your dog to make sure it was trained properly.

Diabetes organizations

  • ADA links and documents
There are a lot of links here about ADA Rules and Regulations
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
This is the official Americans with Disabilities Act website. I find it a little more difficult to use than the above site
  • ADA Q&A
This is a really good Q & A about service dogs and what businesses can and can not do about them.

Other sites of no particular purpose, but I find interesting

Alert Dog Survey
Dr. Wells of Queen's University in Belfast, Ireland is conducting research into diabetic alert dogs. If you're type 1 and have a dog, that alerts or not, please complete her survey. It will help us all by giving her as much information as possible.
